Elon Musk says his fight with Mark Zuckerberg could actually happen at the Colosseum

The two tech moguls seem set for a fight, but will it happen at the Colosseum in Rome?

Elon Musk claims that there is a chance that the proposed fight between him and Facebook head honcho Mark Zuckerberg will go down at the famous Colosseum in Rome.

In case you haven’t been across this story just yet, it’s a very VERY strange one.

Basically, two of the world’s richest men have decided that racing each other to Mars, or to space, or to the bottom of the ocean - or whatever - isn’t quite good enough.

Instead, they’ve got to try to beat each other up physically.

Yes, it’s the UFC, if the U in that stood for ultra-rich.

Zuck and Musk seem to be relatively serious about this, as well.

Elon Musk has definitely been in training.

Wow, what next?

Billionaire fighting championship? Bezos, Musk, and Zuckerberg in the WWE's Hell in a Cell?

Well, it seems as if the next step is to get a venue befitting the vast wealth of the two combatants, as well as the incredibly ridiculous nature of the contest.

Where better then, than the famous Colosseum in Italy’s capital city?

Now, Musk has said that even that fanciful thought might become a reality, tweeting: “Some chance fight happens in the Colosseum.”

He later posted a video from Monty Python’s Life of Brian movie with the comment: “Need to work on my endurance.”

If you haven’t seen the seminal comedy film, it’s where a ‘gladiator’ decides to play the fight a different way, setting off sprinting around the amphitheatre trying to get away.

Despite rumors that the Italian ministry of culture had given the OK to the big fight, they later released a statement that said: “If Zuckerberg and Musk wanted to perform in the Colosseum they would have to make a non-violent challenge.”

Still, TMZ Sports is adamant that sources have told them it’s possible.

Musk even kept up the hype by quoting Russell Crowe from Gladiator, tweeting: “What we do in life echoes in eternity.”

So, is it all a load of bulls***?

Will it even happen?

Who knows, but it definitely seems as if the two lads are more than up for a scrap.

Their teacher - who has been working with both - isn’t so keen, although he’ll still be interested.

Lex Fridman said that he ‘thinks the world is served far better’ if they just train rather than duke it out in a cage.

However, he added: "That said, as Elon says, the most entertaining outcome is the most likely."

“I’m there for them, no matter what,” Fridman concluded.

We’ll just have to wait to see how it goes down.
