Fans blown away by Gaten Matarazzo's singing voice in Broadway musical

The young star seriously impressed fans with his singing voice

People have been left blown away after hearing Gaten Matazarro’s singing voice as he takes to the stage on Broadway for a special appearance in Parade.

While the 20-year-old star is undoubtedly best known for his role as Dustin Henderson in Netflix’s Stranger Things, he actually begin his acting career on Broadway back in 2011 when he starred in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

He’s also had roles in the stage performance of Les Misérables and, more recently, in Dear Evan Hansen.

Matarazzo is currently starring as Frankie Epps in Parade which is playing at the New York City Center until November 6, and fans have been left blown away after seeing footage of him singing. You can see a clip of him in action here:

Parade centres on the true story of Leo Frank - a Jewish man who was wrongfully accused of killing a 13-year-old girl in Georgia in 1913.

After footage of Matarazzo as Frankie was shared on TikTok, the actor was flooded with praise from fans who had no idea that as well as being a top notch actor, he can also sing.

One person wrote: “Gaten has got a hell of a future ahead of him, brilliant in Stranger Things, so talented and boy can he sing.”

Another said: “This kid. Good lord he’s so talented.”

While a third added: “He's actually got an amazing voice, I could never.”

Others suggested he’d be a great choice to voice a Disney prince in the near future, while another fan reckoned he should team up with Hugh Jackman to create a Greatest Showman type musical film.

Earlier this year, Matarazzo was singled out for his performance in the latest season of Stranger Things with fans saying he needs to scoop an award for his acting abilities.

As you may remember from season four, Dustin made firm friends with town outcast Eddie (played by Joseph Quinn), with fans loving their close friendship.

However, things took a heart wrenching turn after Eddie died a hero’s death in the arms of a devastated Dustin, who had the chance to tell him he loved before he slipped away. Anyone chopping onions?

Fans were left seriously impressed with the young star, with one person posting: “Someone give Gaten Matarazzo an award for his phenomenal acting in this scene.”

And another said: “Guys just a second to appreciate Gaten Matarazzo and his legit amazing performance in Stranger Things 4. He was so f**king funny but the scenes with Eddie and Wayne Munson showed how truly phenomenal Gaten’s acting is.”
