Florence Pugh shares reason behind new shaved head during dramatic Met Gala look

The star says she's been keeping the look under wraps for weeks.

Florence Pugh has shocked people around the world after arriving at the 2023 Met Gala.

The Don't Worry Darling star has been turning looks left, right and center this year and she has definitely pulled out all the stops for fashion's biggest night.

However, the big talking point of her outfit is her hair.

Or, the lack of it.

The actor has previously had long, flowing sandy brown hair and it appears she's shaved it all off for tonight's special event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

She walked onto the red carpet alongside Pierpaolo Piccioli, the creative director of Valentino.

Pugh donned a white gown that had a long train and had a 'central ribbon adornment', according to Vogue.

In the place of her missing locks, she wore a dramatic headpiece that looked like a very elongated crown.

While many thought she did the dramatic look just for tonight, she's told Variety there was a bigger reason behind the new 'do'.

"I'm shooting a movie called We Live In Time at the moment and it was required for the job, but I happily wanted to do," she revealed.

"I thought what is a better way to release it to the world than at the Met with Pierpaolo, and so I've been keeping it under wraps for about three weeks now.

She said she's very happy to have it with the look she chose for the event because it makes it even more special.

When asked how she managed to keep the look a secret she said she's been busy filming the movie so she hasn't had much of a life.
