Howard Stern Seriously Wants To Run For President

The radio show host has made the claim in light of the Supreme Court repealing Roe vs. Wade.

One of the more unlikely bits of fallout from the American Supreme Court overturning Roe vs. Wade is that Howard Stern has decided that he wants to run for President.

The long-standing shock jock doubled down down on comments this week that he'd look to run for President in light of the shocking news that the Supreme Court had overturned Roe v. Wade. The ruling means that constitutional protection for abortion has been lifted and allows states to set their own laws regulating the procedure. Multiple states have already decreed that abortion is illegal within days of the ruling.

In response, Howard Stern is considering running for president - with Uproxx reporting that he called it his 'civic duty' to join the 2024 race.

Stern shared an update on his potential candidacy during Monday’s episode of The Howard Stern Show. “I’m actually going to probably have to run for president now,” he said.

“I am going to do the very simple thing that’ll set the country straight: one vote, one person. No more Electoral College. I’m getting rid of it.”

Stern went on to say that he felt the problem with most presidents was that 'they have too big of an agenda'.

He added: "The only agenda I would have is to make the country fair again," which also seems like a pretty big agenda we've got to say.

Directing his focus on Roe vs. Wade, he went on to slam slam Justice Clarence Thomas, who was one of six who made up the 6-3 majority decision. Stern described him as 'sitting there like Darth Vader, dormant, [and] waiting for other kooks to join the Supreme Court'.

Stern didn't hold back on Clarence Thomas.

Stern continued: “I’ll give you a couple of examples of why this is so horrible,” going on to say that 'everyday women who go to the doctor and they find out that the baby has horrible birth defects'.

He added: "The other thing is, if I do run for president — and I’m not f*cking around, I’m really thinking about it — because the only other thing I’m going to do is appoint five more Supreme Court justices.”

Questioned by his co-host Robin Quivers if that was possible, he replied, “I don’t know. I don’t know what I’m doing exactly.”

Which, to be fair, leaves him no less qualified than the last incumbent.
