Hugh Grant has made clear his support for an upcoming anti-Boris Johnson march set to take place in London this weekend.
Protesters are set to gather on Saturday, February 19 for the event organised by activist group Take Back Democracy, which has described itself as being 'entirely fed up with the UK government of Boris Johnson and the Tory party.'
Attendees are being urged to 'unite against Johnson' and 'send a message [the government] cannot ignore' as a website for the event argues that 'our Democratic System is broken and needs overhaul, the current Government have used their majority and manipulated the system to their own ends', adding: 'They have broken the law!'
Reminders about the event have been shared on Twitter, with one post by one of the group's activists reading: 'Never have I seen more businesses going bust, more people in poverty, such a great divide between rich and poor, or such corruption in our government. It has to change and it starts Saturday.'

Grant, who has long criticised the Conservative government, showed his agreement and support for the activist's comments as he quoted their post and added an emoji of a finger pointing towards it, along with a fist emoji.
The Notting Hill actor has previously accused the government of using the coronavirus pandemic as an opportunity for leaders to 'enrich' friends and donors, and last month he described members of the government as 'insecure, spittle-flecked nut jobs' as he slammed plans to scrap the BBC licence fee.
Saturday's event is set to kick off at midday, with protesters encouraged to bring their 'Drums, Voices, Horns and Whistles' to make themselves known before they engage in a fancy-dress football match which will see 'Tory MPs' go head-to-head with 'historical Britains [sic].'

For those unable to attend the event in person, there will be the opportunity to share their own speeches as well as a 'sustained email protest' to Johnson, and 'more emails to at least 10 Tory MPs'.
Take Back Democracy is described as an 'unincorporated organisation set up by a group of people' who 'felt compelled to do something in the wake of the ongoing corruption of the UK Government.'
On the group's website, it adds: 'We wanted to do something to stop the slide into fascism and to be a counterargument to the populist agenda. We believe in inclusion, equality, and a fair country for everyone. We have no party-political affiliations, and we are members of different parties and no parties.'
