Jada Pinkett Smith's Ex-Lover Calls Out Their 'Entanglement' In New Song

August Alsina has addressed his and Jada Pinkett Smith's 'entanglement' in his latest song.

August Alsina has addressed his and Jada Pinkett Smith's 'entanglement' in his latest song.

As if all the commotion from the Oscars wasn't enough already, Jada Pinkett Smith has been sung about again by her former lover R&B vocalist August Alsina.

In his latest single titled 'Shake the World', Alsina seemingly refers to the affair which took place between him and Pinkett Smith while her marriage to actor Will Smith was on the rocks.

The lyrics read: "I heard it's some s**t that's bound to go down when you got a billion dollars on the elevator.

Well, of course some s**t was bound to go down when you tangled up with the world's favourite."

The drama between the trio fully hit off when Pinkett Smith revealed she had an affair with Alsina on an episode of her Red Table Talk Facebook series back in 2020.

Alsina had initially claimed the relationship between himself and Pinkett Smith had been given the go ahead by Smith.

This isn't the first time that Alsina has written a song which refers to the love triangle either.

Just a week or so after the explosive Red Table Talk episode, the singer released a song called, 'Entanglements' in July 2020.

The lyrics read: "The definition of entanglement.

It's when you tangled in the sheets.

Girl I know that we don't call it a relationship.

But you're still f**kin' with me."

Later in the song it says: "Left your man to f***k with me, just to pay him back.

That ain't my girl, but I got the key to the crib and to your car (To the crib and to her heart)."

Earlier in his latest release Alsina also appears to reference the backlash he faced in 2020 after Pinkett Smith revealed the pair's affair.

The lyrics read: "I heard I was cancelled (Hmm)

Well, let's speak on that

Red dot on my back, I became a target

And I'm flawed but flawless, that's what makes me August."

However, listeners of the new tune took to Twitter to critique Alsina's new tune, with many viewing it as 'flawed' for bringing up a moment from so long ago.

One user said: "We are tired! Go to bed!"

Another wrote: "Shame man, he keeps trying so hard. He should start making nice music with all that talent & stop trying to bring up old shit... Add summer colours to your life, lighten your mood & dance a bit. There's so much more to live for."

A third agreed: "He gotta chill."
