Jake Paul broke his new $420,000 Ferrari just one hour after buying it

Jake Paul vs brand new Ferrari - who do you think ended up winning that battle of wits?

Jake Paul managed to break a $420,000 Ferrari just an hour after getting it out of the showroom.

If it was just about anyone else you’d probably be surprised and wonder how they did it, but with Jake Paul it will come as absolutely no shock that he wrecked something expensive almost immediately.

But, we’ll still tell you how he did it.

Sharing a video on his YouTube – which is where he made his name before boxing, remember? – ‘The Problem Child’ showed how he went into the showroom and checked out the brand-new bright yellow car.

Then, he argued that he should be given a gig on Top Gear as he was taking the $421,000 Ferrari 296 GTB out for a spin.

“I feel like I need to start talking in a British accent and using big words, like the Top Gear people,” he said.

Top Gear needs to hire me!”

However – and here’s the bit that won’t surprise anyone – no sooner had he got it out of the Ferrari dealership, he decided to start quite literally taking it for a spin and doing a load of donuts.

These cars, while they’re meant to be driven at speed, are highly-strung and extremely sensitive machines.

They’re not built for this sort of thing, and unless you’ve given them a proper run-out, things can go badly wrong.

Quickly, Paul noticed that he was getting a heap of notifications on the digital display of the car.

It’s never good when you see those sorts of things, even if you’re not driving a brand-new supercar that has only just left the place where it came from.

Anyway, he had a heap of notifications going off on his dashboard, including ‘low beam failure’, ‘AVS failure’, ‘ESC system failure’, and ‘Manettino failure’.

Probably don't do this to a brand new Ferrari.

Unless you’re a Ferrari dealer or driver, you probably don’t know or care what any of those are.

All you need to know is that they came with a message that said ‘go to dealer’.

“I don’t know if I was supposed to drive it that hard on the first day,” Paul said.

Do you think?

“Doesn’t everybody do that?” he asked.

No, no they don’t.

After getting it home, he started having a look around the car and found that the tyres weren’t great, as well as all the notifications going off.

So, he called his dad.

It's no wonder it packed in.

“You know you’re supposed to break those in before you do what you do?” he said.

Anyway, he’s got the kind of cash to fix these things up, and he’ll probably have called the dealership – or asked someone to – and got them around to sort it out.
