Jamie Lynn Spears has acknowledged her relationship with her sister, Britney Spears, has become ‘complicated’ after the singer accused her of failing to support her during her conservatorship battle.

Jamie Lynn, Britney’s younger sister, is set to discuss the ‘rift’ between the pair during an interview on Good Morning America as she promotes her upcoming memoir Things I Should Have Said.

In a clip released ahead of the interview airing later today, January 12, Jamie Lynn is seen telling Juju Chang, ‘I love my sister,’ as she wipes away tears. In response to Chang asking whether ‘things have gotten complicated’, she tells the anchor, ‘I guess so.’

The 30-year-old is expected to discuss her sister’s recent conservatorship battle and allegations made against herself and her family, after Britney testified during a court hearing that she believes some of her relatives should be tried for ‘conservatorship abuse’.

Britney has also hit out at her family on Instagram, describing Jamie Lynn as a ‘mean a**’ and calling her out for performing one of her songs while accepting an award on her behalf last summer.

‘I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes !!!!!’ Britney wrote of the performance. ‘My so-called support system hurt me deeply!’

In response to the criticism, Jamie Lynn said in a since-deleted Instagram video that she had ‘only loved, adored, and supported my sister’, adding, ‘I have nothing to gain or lose either way. This situation does not affect me either way, because I’m only her sister who’s only concerned about her happiness.’

She has also spoken out about having received death threats against herself and her family, as well as graphic threats of violence against her young daughters.

The timing of the former Zoey 101 actor’s memoir has led to further controversy, as Britney fans accuse her of piggybacking off the back of public interest in the #FreeBritney campaign.

Jamie Lynn has already been forced to change the title of her book, which was originally called I Must Confess: Family, Fame, and Figuring it Out, in reference to Britney’s debut single …Baby One More Time, following backlash from fans, and recently had a pledge to donate proceeds from the book to a mental health charity rejected by the organisation, Variety reports.
