Jason Momoa has sparked concern among fans after he shared a photo of himself having an MRI scan.

Earlier this month, Momoa was pictured performing his own motorcycle stunts on the streets of Rome while filming the tenth instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise, suggesting he may have injured himself at work.

Momoa, whose head was in a brace, captioned the post: “You got to break some eggs to make an omelette,” fuelling speculation he’d suffered an injury.

Fans were quick to express concern for Momoa, 42, in the comment section beneath his post, with many writing: “Hope you’re OK!”

Another Instagrammer told the Aquaman star: “Oh no, hope it’s nothing too bad” and a second echoed: “Oh my? What’s happened? Get well soon.”

Other comments included: “Full support bro” and “Sending love,” while one disgruntled fan wrote: “Why post this if you aren’t going to respond when people are concerned and want to know what happened?”

Even Momoa’s famous pals were worried, with Gal Gadot penning: “Oh no!” and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt adding: “Hope you’re OK brother!”

Momoa is no stranger to on-set injuries and when promoting his 2018 blockbuster Aquaman, he reeled off a list of gnarly wounds he’d sustained on set during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

According to MailOnline, he told DeGeneres at the time: “I messed up my eyes. I just got something in it that kinda cut it up, and then I’ve gotta get surgery. I have a hernia, I’ve got ribs out. I’m just getting beat up.”

It comes days after Momoa was forced to apologise for posting a string of photos of himself inside the Vatican's Sistine Chapel on Instagram.

Photography or filming in any form is banned inside the iconic landmark, and many of his 17million followers pointed out that there’s one rule for the public and another for celebrities.

One social media user said: "We can't take pics but [of course] celebrities can. Nothing against Jason (I adore him) but it's not fair."

A second chimed in: "So they let the rich and famous film in there but us peasants can’t."

Momoa penned in response: "Just want to send my absolute admiration for the Italians and this beautiful country. [I also] want to send apologies for any disrespect. I love your culture and history."
