Jennifer Lawrence has claimed that she has seen men throw ‘hissy fits’ on movie sets, before discussing her time working with controversial director Bryan Singer.
The 32-year-old Silver Linings Playbook actress was interviewed during a Hollywood Reporter roundtable panel, along with actors Danielle Deadwyler, Michelle Yeoh, Michelle Williams, Emma Corrin and Claire Foy.
Lawrence compared working with female directors to working with male ones.

“I’ve worked with Bryan Singer,” she said, mentioning the X-Men director. “I’ve seen emotional men. I’ve seen the biggest hissy fits thrown on set.”
The Academy Award winner said she’s had an ‘incredible’ experience working with female directors in comparison to male ones and said everything flows better.
“The schedule made sense. There were no huge fights. If an actor had a personal thing and wanted to leave early, instead of going, ‘Oh! Well, we'd all love to leave early!’ we'd put our heads together and go, ‘OK. How can we figure this out?’”

Lawrence also mentioned her most recent film, the psychological drama Causeway, which was directed by Lila Neugebauer.
She continued: “[Lila Neugebauer's] my third female director and they are the calmest, best decision-makers I've ever worked with. I absolutely love working with female directors.”
Singer, 57, worked with Lawrence on four X-Men films including X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix, in which she played Mystique.

He was accused of engaging in sexual misconduct with underage boys, and in 2019 several of his alleged victims told their stories in an interview with The Atlantic.
Singer’s lawyer, Andrew B. Brettler, denied all the allegations against him in a statement that said Singer “categorically denies ever having sex with, or a preference for, underage men”.
Singer was finishing production on Bohemian Rhapsody when he was fired in December 2017 for allegedly clashing with cast and crew on set.

Dexter Fletcher was hired to complete the film, however Singer retained sole director credit as per the Directors Guild of America guidelines. Filming wrapped in January 2018.
The Valkyrie director shared his own version of events. “Rumours that my unexpected departure from the film was sparked by a dispute I had with Rami Malek are not true,” he said at the time per Entertainment Weekly. “While, at times, we did have creative differences on set, Rami and I successfully put those differences behind us and continued to work on the film together until just prior to Thanksgiving.”
