It was worth watching the Academy Awards ceremony for many reasons but seeing Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone’s friendship in action is the best of them.

Sitting next to each other, the two young actresses seemed to be having a lot of fun laughing their way through the ceremony.

One of host Jimmy Kimmel’s jokes in particular certainly had the duo in fits of giggles as it made a dig at last year’s unforgettable Best Picture kerfuffle.

It only took Kimmel minutes to make reference to that moment from 2017 during his opening monologue and of course the cameras cut to Stone as he did so.

She was pretty happy to be the butt of the joke though seeing the funny side quietly laughing to herself.

J-Law though, a hero to all, decided now would be the perfect moment to sarcastically make fun of her friend pointing directly at her while laughing in her face.

She even slapped her knee enthusiastically at one point completing everyone’s nights on Twitter although Stone faked a hilariously disappointed impression.

Naturally the internet freaked out over the celebrity friendship taking to Twitter in delight:

Lawrence and Stone made their friendship public in the cutest way during the Golden Globes awards earlier this year.

The Hunger Games star shared a video on her Facebook page, filmed by Stone, showing her sat around with make-up on one eye and not the other.

In the video, Lawrence said she’s been planning to head out to some after-parties but sent her hair and make-up team home as they were making her up because Stone had decided she would rather just spend time at Jen’s house.

Stone, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role in Battle Of The Sexes, asks her friend: ‘What happened tonight?’

To which Lawrence replies:

Well you told me that you wanted me to be your date to the after parties so I got us tickets to some after parties, I booked a car and I was halfway through glam when you told me that you didn’t want to go and you just wanted to come over to my house.

So I sent my hair and make-up team home and now this is what I look like.

Stone was on the red carpet at the Golden Globes along with tennis champion Billie Jean King, who she plays in Battle Of The Sexes.

She lost out to the award, which was won by Lady Bird star Saoirse Ronan.
