Jennifer Lopez Introduces Her Child Emme With Pronouns They/Them On Stage For Duet

The singer/actress introduced her 14-year-old daughter using the pronouns during a performance at Dodgers Stadium last week

Superstar Jennifer Lopez introduced her child using 'they/them' pronouns during a performance last week in Los Angeles.

As part of the LA Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala last Thursday, JLO's 14-year-old child Emme - who she describes as her 'favourite duet partner' - was brought onto the stage.

"The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won't. So this is a very special occasion. They [Emme] are very, very busy. Booked. And pricey," she joked to the LA audience.

"They cost me when they come out. But they're worth every single penny because they're my favourite duet partner of all time. So if you will indulge me."

The pair could be seen performing together in a series of pictures taken from the night, some of which were uploaded to social media by the Grammy award winning artist.

Videos of the duet were also uploaded to TikTok, where users couldn't help but notice Emme's introduction.

One such video, which has been viewed over 50,000 times, has been flooded by supportive comments regarding Emme's usage of they/them pronouns.

One user wrote in the comments: "Awww JLo respecting the pronouns", while another added: "The best parents love and support their kids - go JLO and Emme!".

In the video itself, the beaming mother can he heard saying ''Give it up for my baby," at the end of the performance - which was in aid of raising funds for education, health care, homelessness and social justice issues in LA.

Emme is the child of Lopez and the star's former husband, Marc Anthony, whom she divorced in 2014.

The youngster carried a rainbow coloured microphone on stage, going on to sing a rendition of Christina Perri's 'A Thousand Years' alongside proud mum JLO.

This was the first time they had been together on stage since 2020, where Lopez infamously performed at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in Miami.
