Johnny Depp has issued a warning to those who flooded to follow him online in the wake of his trial win over ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp garnered support from fans across the globe after he sued Heard for her 2018 op-ed in which she described herself as a victim of abuse, and he gained even more followers online following the verdict earlier this month.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star joined TikTok and shared a video thanking his fans for their support, and in the two weeks since he joined the platform he has racked up more than 15 million followers.
His popularity prompted the actor to issue a warning on Sunday (19 June), when he drew attention to a rise in fake profiles created by people pretending to be him.

In a post on his Instagram Story, Depp wrote: "I’ve been made aware that there are fake accounts pretending to be me or people working with me."
Depp made clear he does not have 'any private or side accounts on any platforms'.
"These are the only pages run by me and my team where we share updates and communicate: Instagram @JohnnyDepp TikTok @JohnnyDepp Facebook @JohnnyDepp Discord @JohnnyDepp0854," he continued.
The actor urged fans to 'remain cautious' as those responsible for the fake accounts can be 'relentless' and assured his team is 'working to combat the problem'.
“Thank you for your continued support and for making me aware of this issue! Love & respect, JD xx," he finished.

Depp currently has 25.9 million followers on Instagram and 14 million followers on Facebook, though a search of his name on both platforms returns dozens of unverified accounts.
Instagram explains only the person who is being impersonated on the platform or a representative for the user can file a report about a fake account, though any accounts sharing false information or suspected scams can be reported to the company through its app.
To report an account on TikTok, users can select the three-dot icon at the top of a person's profile and select 'report'.

Depp became a popular topic of conversation as a result of his defamation trial against Heard, who accused Depp of abusing her.
Following the lengthy, highly publicised trial in which both Depp and Heard shared details about their tumultuous marriage, Depp ultimately secured a verdict largely in his favour and was granted more than $10 million in damages.
