Kim Kardashian And Kanye West ‘Keep Their Distance’ At Birthday Party
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are said to have kept their distance from each other while celebrating their daughter Chicago’s fourth birthday.
Kardashian has made headlines for striking up a new relationship with Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson following her divorce from West, with numerous sources claiming the reality TV star and businesswoman is very happy with her new romance.
In spite of their separation, West and Kardashian both took part in Chicago’s birthday which was celebrated this weekend in a joint party shared with Kylie Jenner’s oldest child, Stormi.
Images shared online showed West at the party, though just hours earlier the rapper accused Kardashian of refusing to tell him where it was taking place.
A source familiar with the events discussed the situation with The Sun, saying: ‘Chicago and Stormi had their joint party at Kylie’s Hidden Hills house. It was set to be a great family day which turned into drama with Kanye going on a public rant about not being invited.
‘When he finally got the address he arrived like a bat out of hell in a rental car around 1.00pm, driving himself without any security’, they added.
In spite of the initial frustrations, West is said to have ‘seemed okay’ once he starting talking to the family, with the source saying he ‘was in great spirits laughing and playing with Chicago, it seems he just wanted to be involved in her day and didn’t want to cause trouble.’
There was reportedly ‘no scene’ between West and Kardashian, though that may have been because ‘they did spend most of the afternoon at other ends of the garden.’
‘No deep discussion’ took place between the parents, though the rapper did chat with Kardashian’s mum, Kris Jenner, as well as some other family members.
The source said: ‘He left after about an hour and drove himself back home.’
A video taken before the party and obtained by TMZ showed West driving around Los Angeles and saying he was ‘just wishing [his] daughter a public happy birthday’ because he ‘wasn’t allowed to know where her party was’.
He continued: ‘It’s nothing legal. These are the kind of games being played. This is the kind of thing that has affected my health for the longest and I’m just not playing.’
Kardashian and Jenner appeared to spare no expense to celebrate their daughters’ birthdays, with images from the event showing a pink bouncy castle and a balloon display which read ‘Stormi & Chicago’.
