Met Gala Responds To Claims Photographer Shouted 'Show Us Those Boobs' At Sydney Sweeney

A clip of the moment went viral, but all may not have been as it seemed

The Met Gala has responded after it was claimed that a photographer shouted 'show us those boobs' at Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney.

The annual fundraising fashion event took place on Monday (2 May) in New York City, and many of the world's biggest stars were in attendance in their finest glad rags.

Among the celebrities at the prestigious event was Euphoria actor Sydney Sweeney, who was making her debut at the ball.

However, people online were appalled after a viral clip appeared to capture a photographer catcalling the 24-year-old.

Watch here:

In the footage, it sounds like the pap may have shouted: "Does anyone have boobs like you down there? Come on, show us those boobs."

Sweeney appears to hear the heckle, turning and laughing in the direction of the man.

Shocked by what she'd seemingly heard, Sabrina Bergsten posted the clip on TikTok and expressed her disgust at the apparent catcall.

She said: "It's just crazy to think that you can be at the height of your career at like, the most respectable event in fashion, like the Met Gala. What an honour to be there. And you're still gonna get sexually harassed on the red carpet in front of all of your peers and in front of tonnes of cameras."

Her video has been viewed more than 900,000 times, with many people sharing her sentiment in the comments.

Speaking to BuzzFeed News, 24-year-old Sabrina said: "I immediately screen-recorded it because I think it's important that we don't over-glorify events like the Met Gala if the standard for what photographers are being invited, and the conduct of those photographers, is so shockingly low."

It was Sweeney's first Met Gala.

However, it seems that Sabrina – and many more online – could have got the wrong end of the stick.

According to BuzzFeed News, a source who spoke with people in attendance said the photographer in fact shouted: "Does anyone have moves like you down there? Come on, show us those moves."

This was apparently in reference to Sweeney's twirling, moments before the viral clip.

A spokesperson for the Met Gala has since told BuzzFeed News that there is a 'rigorous review process for applications'.

The spokesperson said: "This was just brought to our attention – and we are neither clear if the allegation is accurate nor who the reporter may have been – yet surely we would not condone any of our guests being treated in this unprofessional manner."

Whatever was said, Sweeney seemingly had a blast.

In a post on Instagram, she wrote: "What a dream night! Honestly the most fun on a carpet I've ever had."
