Arnold Schwarzenegger has hit out at ‘boomers’ who became ‘babies’ the second they're challenged.

During his interview on The Howard Stern Show, the iconic actor said young people are too sheltered these days.

He added that if they continue to be coddled, America might raise a ‘generation of wimps’.

“Anybody that tries to baby themselves, and pamper themselves and protect themselves — ‘Oh, I don’t want to feel bad, I don’t really want to go through any discomfort’ — It’s over,” he said.

The former Governor of California added that struggle and hardship make people strong.

“The human mind can only really grow through resistance. You can only strengthen your character, become a really strong person inside, if you have resistance,” he told the talk show host.

He then suggested that children should intentionally go through ‘pain’ to evolve.

"Let’s go and teach kids to be tough... go out and do sports... to struggle... and go through this kind of painful moments sometimes,” he added.

While we appreciate the message, perhaps sports isn’t the best example. It's giving conservative dad in the '50s vibes.

The 76-year-old recently clarified his remarks after an X/Twitter user shared the same sentiment.

“While I lost a lot of respect for @Schwarzenegger due to his ‘screw your freedoms’ comments during Covid, most of the time his position is right on point. Hard to argue the fact that ‘young kids today’ tend to shy away and ‘baby themselves’ from the struggle that comes with hard work in order to achieve success,” the user wrote.

The Terminator star noted that boomers are also sensitive, not just Millennials and Gen Z people.

“To be 100 per cent clear, it is not just kids that are being babied,” he wrote.

“I also see my fellow boomers get hurty feelings if, God forbid, someone doesn’t share their point of view. Too many people of all ages and political stripes avoid discomfort to the point of vegetable-izing themselves.”

Many seemed to agree with the actor’s stance, as one person wrote: “Been objective goes a long way. You need to hear others' opinions. Especially the ones you don't like. This is how you grow.”

Another said: “Totally agree! Age doesn't matter when it comes to being sensitive about our viewpoints. We all need to challenge ourselves and be more resilient.”

While a third shared: “Tough to hear but absolutely on point.”
