The Big Bang Theory star Kate Micucci reveals she is cancer-free following surgery

The Big Bang Theory star first publicly spoke out about her diagnosis earlier this month

Big Bang Theory star Kat Micucci has revealed she is now 'cancer free' after going public with her lung cancer diagnosis earlier this month.

Best known and loved for playing Lucy in popular US sitcom, Micucci took to her TikTok account earlier this month to explain to fans what she's 'been up to' recently.

The star revealed she'd been diagnosed with lung cancer however, she's since taken to social media once again, this time with some much more positive news to share.

Micucci took her TikTok on December 8 to give a 'Sick Tock' rather than 'TikTok' revealing she had 'bloodwork' which came back 'really high' which led to her lung cancer diagnosis.

She continued: "It’s really weird, because I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life. So, you know, it was a surprise.

"But also I guess, it happens and the greatest news is they caught it early, they got it out, I’m all good."

The actor resolved: "It’s been a little bit of a trip and [I’ll] probably be moving slow for a few weeks but then I’ll be back at it."

The cancer was thankfully caught early.

And just a week or so later, Micucci has posted to her Instagram and TikTok to reveal she's now cancer free.

The caption of the Instagram post reads: "Pretty surreal to wake up and find Good Morning America had done a segment about my lung cancer diagnosis.

"Great news is, thanks to surgery last week, I am cancer free and no other treatment is needed.

"I was very lucky to have such wonderful doctors and nurses who took great care of me. And I was very lucky to find it so early.

"Thank you @willreeve_ and @goodmorningamerica for getting the word out about lung cancer awareness. #lungcancer #lucky #sendinglove."

In a TikTok video she repeated a similar message, thanking her doctors and nurses for 'figuring it out earlier', noting how she is 'very, very lucky'.

Micucci resolved: "I just wanted to thank you all so much for the good wishes and all the love that i have received this past week. It was just, it meant so much to me and really came at the time that I really needed it so thank you.

"[...] I am just really grateful that things worked out as they did and I'm feeling really good today and honestly just so excited and truly grateful. So thank you all for all the prayers and wishes.

"I'm just glad I can report some good news to you and I'm excited to hang with my little boy for Christmas."
