Bradley Cooper was forced to leave reporters hanging at a press conference for his new movie Maestro this week after he received an emergency call while on stage.
Cooper, 48, was in New York promoting the movie in which he stars alongside Carey Mulligan.
The Hangover star plays conductor-composer Leonard Bernstein in the biographical drama, which tells the story of the relationship between Bernstein and actress Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein (Mulligan).

With the movie available to watch now on Netflix, Cooper appeared in front of reporters on Thursday (21 December) to discuss his role.
Just 20 minutes into the press conference, Cooper looked at his phone and apologized to the crowd.
"So sorry. The school nurse just called me," he said.
"Can I just leave the room for a second to call them back and you can keep going. Is that all right?"

Cooper is dad to daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, who he shares with Irina Shayk.
Cooper and Shayk started dating in 2015 before welcoming Lea two years later, but they decided to go their separate ways in 2019.
The pair now share custody of their six-year-old daughter, with the parents said to be 'friendly' for their daughter's sake.

After explaining what had happened to the crowd, Cooper left the room for a few moments before returning to announce that he had to leave immediately.
"I have to go to the school to do something with Lea that needs…," he said.
The dad explained that he had to 'apply something' that the school wouldn't allow, saying he had to be the one to do it.
"It's like a 10 minute walk," he said.

Cooper hasn't provided an update since the press conference, but his exit came just a few days after his daughter joined him on the red carpet for the premiere of Maestro earlier this month.
Lea was seen grinning in snaps alongside her dad at the event, with Cooper previously having said that becoming a father completely changed his outlook on life.
Speaking on Amazon Music and Wondery's SmartLess podcast, he said: "Every single thing is absolutely shaded by, or brought into glorious colors, by the fact that I get to be a father to a wonderful human being."

Shayk has previously praised Cooper as a father to her child, telling Elle: "He's the best father Lea and I could dream of. It always works, but it always works because we make it work."
Maestro is available to stream now on Netflix.
