Cameron Diaz furiously breaks silence on rumors she quit acting due to Jamie Foxx

The Shrek star has responded to rumors that Jamie Foxx had made her want to quit acting

Cameron Diaz has responded to claims that she wanted to quit acting after working with Jamie Foxx.

The star of Shrek and Charlie's Angels wasn't very happy about the rumours surrounding the relationship between her and Foxx on the set of her first movie after an eight year hiatus.

Back in 2018, Diaz confirmed that she'd be leaving the acting industry and in 2021, she went to say that Annie would be her last movie in order to make her life 'more manageable'.

However, it was announced that the star was 'back in action' for the Netflix comedy Back in Action - with the movie soon being plagued by rumors.

These included allegations that she had wanted to quit acting after the alleged experience on set.

But Diaz said she couldn't believe it when she heard the claim that Foxx had been 'making everything miserable and that I was never gonna make another movie again because of him'.

Diaz said she was appalled by the rumours.

Speaking about it on the Lipstick on the Rim podcast, she said: "I really hate all of the things that were being said about our set at the time. You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, 'What are you talking about?'"

She also explained that she'd had a 'blast' working on set with Foxx.

The Gangs of New York star went on to say: "Jamie is, like, the cheerleader for the entire crew. Everybody loves him. We have so much fun on the set with him, and he's just a professional on every level."

Adding: "Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much. He's such a special person and he's so talented, so much fun."

The rumours alleged that Foxx had 'crazy' behavior on set.

Diaz also said that she spoke to Foxx directly about how upset she had been about the rumors.

However, she said that Foxx shut it down, telling her "We know the truth."

The Mask star went to say: "[Foxx is] so classy. He's like, 'Nope. Just let them [talk]. "Still, it just really made me angry."

Back in Action is an action comedy, with Diaz and Foxx in the leading roles.

They will also be joined by Glenn Close, Kyle Chandler from Friday Night Lights, and Andrew Scott, aka the Hot Priest from Fleabag.

Body doubles had to be temporarily used for Foxx towards the end of production after the actor suffered a medical emergency.

Foxx has since spoken out after his hospitalization, saying: "Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed."
