Dustin Hoffman 'makes woman's life' after she tells him her favorite movie is Hook

Despite playing the titular pirate over thirty years ago, Dustin Hoffman still couldn't resist becoming Captain Hook for one fan.

Dustin Hoffman has made one woman’s ‘life’, after she revealed Hook was her favourite film.

The veteran actor appeared in the classic kids' film in the early nineties but decided to give an impromptu rendition of the villain after receiving the compliment.

Needless to say, the woman and everyone close by were immediately transported back to their childhood.

The sweet exchange happened whilst Hoffman was in London for the premiere of 2017's The Meyerowitz Stories, a Netflix comedy-drama about dysfunctional siblings.

Despite the film’s adult tone, the 86-year-old couldn’t help reverting back to the iconic childhood character after chatting with one reporter.

In fact, you can hear the woman gush about how much she loved Hoffman’s film, telling the A-Lister: “So last time I saw you, I told you Hook was my favourite film, and it still is so congratulations on that…”

Shocked by this, the actor struggled to accept the compliment and tells the woman she mustn’t have been born when the film was released in 1991.

Just as the interview finishes up, Hoffman ushers the reporter closer as he delivers one of Hook’s most iconic lines.

“I hate, I hate, I hate Peter Pan,” he gleefully said, before walking away, to which the unnamed woman responded: “You’ve made my life thank you so much.”

Unsurprisingly, fans also loved the throwback moment and have been commenting about the clip online.

One wrote: “Dustin is surprised when she says Hook is her favourite. For 90s kids (born in the 80s), Hook is an absolute triumph.”

Another added: “After over 30 years, he just pulls it out of his sleeve as it were yesterday. It's people like him that make me feel lucky to spend their youth in the 80s and 90s.”

However, others focused on the fact that Hook was largely panned by film critics at the time.

Shockingly, the J M Barrie adaptation still has a less-than-fresh score of 29 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Referring to this, a fan commented: “Born in the very late 80s. The critics aren’t watching Hook from a child’s perspective. It was an incredible and magical movie to watch as a kid.”

Others agreed, with a fourth adding: “Such an underappreciated performance. When you watch it back even years later as an adult. You don’t see an actor you only see Hook.”

It seems Hoffman still can shiver fans’ timbers!
