Elon Musk explains why fight date hasn’t been set after Mark Zuckerberg called him out

Elon Musk has spoken out about an 'exact date' for his and Mark Zuckerberg's fight.

Elon Musk has spoken out about an 'exact date' for his and Mark Zuckerberg's fight.

The joke-turned-challenge-turned-apparent real plans to fight between billionaires Musk and Zuckerberg have been hanging in the balance a bit recently.

Many have been left wondering if it will really go ahead, Zuckerberg included, however, Musk has since addressed the delays with an update on his health.

Will the fight actually go ahead?

Only the other day Musk took to Twitter - recently rebranded as X - to insist the fight is set to go ahead and not only that, but will be 'live-streamed'.

In a post uploaded to X on Sunday, 6 August, Musk wrote: "Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on X.

"All proceeds will go to charity for veterans."

"The first episode of X-Videos [Fire emojis]," he added.

It appears the fight is definitely going ahead, and not only that, but it's going to be live-streamed.

Musk also gave an insight into his training plan for the supposed upcoming battle with Zuckerberg, noting he's been 'lifting weights throughout the day' at work - as Twitter's new owner and maintaining his status as one of the world's top billionaires, he doesn't 'have time to work out'.

However, it hasn't taken long for Zuckerberg to reply, the Meta co-founder taking to newly launched Twitter rival app Threads to hit back.

Responding to Musk's comment about him 'lifting weights throughout the day,' Zuckerberg informed Musk he's 'ready today' to go head-to-head in the ring.

Zuckerberg goes on to claim: "I suggested Aug 26 when he first challenged, but he hasn't confirmed. Not holding my breath."

Although, Zuckerberg has since responded saying he's 'not holding his breath'.

A social media user re-shared Zuckerberg's Threads post on Twitter and another commented: "Maybe he suggested it on Threads and no one noticed."

The comment received a laughing emoji reaction from Musk, who went on to explain: "Exact date is still in flux."

Musk is reportedly getting an 'MRI of [his] neck and upper back' tomorrow, 8 August.

He adds: "May require surgery before the fight can happen. Will know this week."

Musk claims he 'may require surgery' before his physical fight against Zuckerberg can go ahead.

Well, while the physical fight still hangs in the balance, at least there's a bit of online beef to keep everyone going.

Zuckerberg went on to say on Threads he 'love[s] this sport' and 'will continue competing with people who train no matter what happens' with his and Musk's supposed fight.

He also hit back at Musk saying the event would be 'live-streamed on X' to raise money for 'charity for veterans'.

Alongside a screenshot of Musk's tweet, Zuckerberg posted on Threads: "Shouldn't we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?"

Ouch.
