Elon Musk responds after his ex-wife announces engagement with Love Actually's Thomas Brodie Sangster

Within five minutes of the announcement going up, the tech billionaire had made a comment.

Elon Musk's ex-wife Talulah Riley has announced she's engaged to Love Actually's Thomas Brodie Sangster.

Riley and Musk first met in a bar in London in 2008 and they got married in Dornoch Cathedral in the UK two years later.

Musk and Riley were married twice, first from 2010 to 2012, and again from 2013 to 2016, before they ultimately went their separate ways.

"I suppose the reason to get remarried was just because it felt silly to be together unmarried after having been married. You know, it's like a habit. We were saying, 'This is my husband'. 'This is my wife'. 'Oh, wait, no, we're not that anymore. We better be that again'," Riley told The Independent at the time.

She added that she had 'very deep love and connection' with Musk and that he remained a 'great friend' even after their divorce.

"He looks out for me. We are in a happy place now, where we're good to each other, which is really nice. I have the utmost love for him," she told the publication.

However, she's now in a relationship with the actor from Love Actually and Game of Thrones.

Sangster and Riley met on the set of their show Pistol and went public with their relationship in March 2022 when they attended the British Academy Film Awards Gala Dinner together.

In the show, Sangster plays the Sex Pistols‘ manager Malcolm McLaren while Riley plays designer Vivienne Westwood.

"We hadn't really acknowledged each other as a romantic possibility or potential until the moment that we both did," Riley told The Independent last year.

In some scenes, Sangster's character says misogynistic things to Riley's character.

While speaking with The Guardian about filming those scenes, Sangster clarified that the pair didn't start dating until production wrapped up.

“I wasn’t dating her at the time. Thankfully we’re not too much like Viv and Malc,” he said.

"And it was the same moment a number of months after having worked together and been good friends."

The happy couple has decided to take things to the next level and have made a big announcement on social media.

"Very happy to share that after two years of dating, Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged!" Riley announced on the platform formally known as Twitter.

Within five minutes of posting the announcement, Musk had commented 'Congratulations' with a red heart emoji.
