Floyd Mayweather reveals how much he spent to take 34 friends to Super Bowl and people are shocked

That's not a cheap night out for a group of 35!

Treating your friends to a meal or a night out is a nice thing to do, but boxer Floyd Mayweather has taken it just one step further as he well and truly splashed the cash to take 34 pals to see the Super Bowl this weekend.

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to take on the San Francisco 49ers for the Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday (11 February) and excitement is well and truly in the air.

And we're not just talking about Taylor Swift fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the singer as she supports beau Travis Kelce.

The biggest NFL event of the year is expected to host a whole range of famous faces, and there's no doubt they'll have splashed the cash to bag themselves a seat.

And that includes none other than boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

Taking to Instagram this week, Mayweather decided to prove to his fans that he paid his own money to attend the Super Bowl, and didn't just get a free hospitality pass.

He uploaded snaps of his receipt for the payment to social media as he wrote: "I don’t kiss ass and I never have to beg for nothing especially not to get a Super Bowl suite.

"I don’t mind accepting invites at times, but one things for sure... The person that’s paying does all the saying. Therefore I get My Own seats and suites so I can do what I want and invite who I want!"

The boxer splashed out a whopping $1.1 million to enjoy the game from a box suite.

That's $33,000 per person to watch the football, which is no small change.

Mayweather will be in fine company too, as he's not the only one who has splashed cash for luxury seats to watch the big match.

Model and actress Olivia Culpo has also reportedly splashed the cash on tickets as she takes fiancé Christian McCaffrey's mom Lisa for the big match this weekend.

Now, it could be that Mayweather and his crew aren't even just there for the football but for the 13 minute half time performance, as musician Usher is set to wow the crowds.

The 'Yeah!' singer's set is already a highly anticipated event as he takes over performing for the halftime show from previous acts like Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, Rihanna and the Black Eyed Peas.

In a recent interview with Apple Music, Usher gushed about his upcoming opportunity - even though he won't be getting paid for it - saying: "This is the most grand stage to ever play on. Those 13 minutes [on stage] mean everything.

"It's been on my bucket list for a long time. I've been asked what are the things that matter the most and it's obviously performing but being able to perform on that stage because all of these amazing performers throughout the years have graced it and did an amazing job, so that's where the obsession with that starts."

He added: "There's excitement in this moment...You remember the first time you ever heard your record play on the radio, you remember the first time you ever heard your voice on a format. This is like that for me."
