Jamie Lynn Spears breaks silence on relationship with sister Britney

The Zoey 101 star is currently appearing on I'm A Celeb

Sisters feud in every-day life, even celebrities. But what’s the deal with this infamous sibling relationship?

Fans wants to know what’s true and what’s rumor, which is why the tumultuous sisterhood between Zoey 101 alum Jamie Lynn Spears, 32, and Britney Spears, 41, is on everyone’s mind.

After a slew of controversial quotes came out of a recent biography by the ‘Oops I Did it Again’ star, people began to point the finger at her family, who the singer claims benefitted from her decade-long conservatorship.

But now, during a conversation on I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! Jamie Lynn spoke about how the pair feel about each other after fellow camp mates started initiating questions.

When TV star Fred Sirieix began the questioning on a recent episode of the show, the actor opened up about what it was like growing up alongside a famous sister and what their relationship is like now.

Fred first asked her about Britney's controversial kiss with Madonna during the 2003 MTV VMAs to which Jamie Lynn had a very simple answer.

She said: "They just did it. I was at home watching like, ‘Oh OK, this will be fun tomorrow at school, can’t wait.”

But that was just the start of what their dynamic was like.

Jamie Lynn continued: "Anything my sister did I always thought was the best.

"When it came to my sister, even if I felt anything, if anyone said anything I was ready to go. I was like, 'Don’t talk about my sister, she’s the best'."

She added about the Madonna kiss: "And so literally I just thought - and, by the way, in today’s world it would mean nothing - but it was this iconic moment that they went with, and it happened, and it’s what they did.

"My mom was like, ‘It’s artistic, she’s expressing herself.'"

With a ten-year age gap between the two, Jamie Lynn grew up in awe of her big sister and she refuses to entertain anything that reports against that.

For example, when fellow I'm A Celeb contestant Frankie Dettori asked if it was true that they no longer get on, she simply replied that ‘I love my sister’ and that was that.

However, that’s not what her older sister has claimed in her tell-all memoir, The Woman in Me, which was released in October this year.

In her book, she wrote about being placed in a mental health facility in 2018: “[Jamie Lynn] knew I was reaching out to her for help and that she was dogging me. I felt like she should have taken my side."

Britney also went on to claim that her little sister benefitted from her captivity, writing: “As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalizing on it. She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous.”

However, she wishes that their relationship could be salvaged.

“She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family. I’m working to feel more compassion than anger toward her, and everyone who I feel has wronged me,” Britney penned.

Their relationship initially became strained as the two publicly feuded over Jamie Lynn’s own memoir, Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame, and Figuring it Out in 2022.

"I love and I support my sister, and I always will. It's very clear that this has been a painful process, and I have to respect however she works through that,” Jamie Lynn told PEOPLE after Britney's conservatorship came to an end.

“This is a complicated situation. It gets to a certain point where you can't help someone who doesn't want you to.”
