Jeff Bezos had a strict rule for guests at his 60th birthday party

The Amazon founder allegedly had legislation in place for those who ended his celebratory bash.

Jeff Bezos is one of the richest people in the world, so you’d think he’d be notoriously difficult to buy for, right?

Honestly, what do you get a 60-year-old man who has a reported net worth of $168.4 billion for his birthday?

Well, guests of Bezos who attended his recent birthday bash know exactly what the founder of the enormous e-commerce business Amazon wants - and it might surprise you.

According to recent reports, the mogul recently celebrated his milestone with his fiancée Lauren Sánchez at her mansion in Beverly Hills, California on 12 January.

The star-studded guestlist included the likes of Oprah Winfrey, model Kendall Jenner and her half-sister Kim Kardashian.

Designer Tommy Hilfiger and British music icon Robbie Williams were also in attendance, alongside Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump and Paris Hilton.

Page Six reports that the party was masterminded by 54-year-old Sánchez and professional celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss.

Weiss is pretty clued up on what the rich and famous are after, having previously had a hand in organising Hailey and Justin Bieber’s wedding and one of Khloé Kardashian’s baby showers.

She is also responsible for scheduling several weddings on the US reality TV show, The Bachelor.

The publication said the 65-year-old worked with Bezos’ partner to decorate the party in the style of his first ever Amazon office.

It’s alleged that the party included the actual desk chair that he sat at in the early days of the company, which he founded out of a garage in Seattle.

But the real question is what did the likes of Katy Perry, Kris Jenner and Bill Gates get Bezos for his birthday?

Well, nothing actually!

The aforementioned publication claims that Bezos had strict legislation in place and demanded that nobody bring a gift to the festivities.

UNILAD has reached out to Jeff Bezos for further comment on his 'golden rule'.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that the father-of-four has turned his nose up at ‘gifts’.

When celebrating the launch of the Bezos Center for Innovation in Seattle back in 2013 he held a questions and answers session with students.

At one point, a fourth grader asked the businessman if he had any nuggets of wisdom to impart.

“I’ll give you two,” he replied, before claiming that he wanted kids to ‘follow their passions’.

Bezos then went on to say that he believes it is your choices that define you, not your gifts.

He explained: “Let’s say you are unusually smart and math is really easy for you, or, if you’re unusually beautiful or very handsome.

“Those are gifts — and you can celebrate gifts — but don’t be proud of those. Be proud of hard work and be proud of your choices. That’s what you should really take way.”
