Kelly Osbourne explains why she supports Ozempic despite mom Sharon's scary warning

The reality star has raved about the prescription medication, calling it 'truly amazing.'

Kelly Osbourne has spoken out in support of Ozempic, despite her own mom's warning against the popular 'weight loss drug'.

Despite mom Sharon Osbourne speaking out about the warnings surrounding the drug, Kelly couldn't be more on board as she says it's 'truly amazing.'

Ozempic is a prescription medication that's taken Hollywood by storm.

According to Mayo Clinic, the drug that curbs your appetite by 'tricking the brain' into thinking it's full to avoid over-eating.

The FDA only recommends Ozempic for people with a BMI greater than 30, or a BMI of 27 or more with a weight-related health condition.

A common side effect of the medication is nausea, stomach pain and constipation - but despite this, the FDA has insisted the benefits of the drug 'outweigh the risks'.

The 'Ozempic Trend' in Hollywood has blown up, however, with Kelly Osbourne being one of those in support of its use.

The daughter of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne revealed her thoughts on the drug when she spoke exclusively to E! News while attending Dolly Parton's Pet Gala.

"I think it's amazing. There are a million ways to lose weight, why not do it through something that isn't as boring as working out?" she said on the red carpet to the outlet.

"People hate on it because they want to do it," she went on. "And the people who hate on it the most are the people who are secretly doing it or pissed off that they can't afford it.

"Unfortunately, right now it's something that is very expensive but it eventually won't be because it actually works."

However her mom Sharon Osbourne has been very vocal about the warnings of Ozempic and has admitted to using it in the past, but said it 'became dangerous'.

The former X-Factor judge explained: "You can lose so much weight and it’s easy to become addicted to that, which is very dangerous.

"I couldn’t stop losing weight and now I’ve lost 42lb and I can’t afford to lose any more."

She specifically warned against letting teenagers use it, calling the drug "too easy."

Sharon been just as vocal in regards to the side effects of the drug, which she talked about on the Club Random podcast, telling Bill Maher: "I just throw up all the time and you feel so nauseous. However, the nausea didn't last forever, and after it passed.

"You're just not hungry."

Despite her echoing the con's of the prescription drug, Sharon said that she 'doesn't regret' taking it as it truly helped with her weight struggles at the time.
