Kris Tyson has spoken out about the ‘weird’ claims that she ‘destroyed MrBeast’ and his business by being herself.
During a brand new interview with fellow YouTuber Anthony Padilla, Tyson, who came out as a woman and confirmed she now uses she/her pronouns, explained how she discovered her identity.
Earlier this year, fans speculated about Tyson’s gender identity following the release of a MrBeast video in April.

MrBeast, whose real name is James Stephen Donaldson, is the most subscribed to channel on YouTube, with over 169 million subscribers as of July 2023.
Some people have shared cruel speculated comments about Tyson amid her gender identity journey and in the interview she explains that she wants to ‘get a hold of my narrative again’.
Before Tyson revealed her gender identity, MrBeast was forced to come out in defence of his childhood friend amid transphobic backlash.

MrBeast’s statement was shared in response to a video by an Australian YouTuber titled: “Why Chris Will Soon Be A Nightmare for MrBeast,” in which the content creator speculated that Tyson’s changing appearance may impact the popularity of MrBeast’s channel.
“Yeah, this is getting absurd,” MrBeast tweeted in April, the same month Kris confirmed she was undergoing hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and before she confirmed her new name spelling and pronouns. “Chris isn’t my ‘nightmare’ he’s my f***en friend and things are fine. All this transphobia is starting to p*ss me off.”
Padilla raises the issue in the interview, stating: “Then you had people making YouTube videos saying that your decision to be yourself and to openly be yourself is destroying MrBeast and it’s gonna mess up the business and you should have thought about that.”

He then jokingly paraphrases the absurd speculation, adding: “How dare you ruin the business by being your true self?!”
Tyson then explained: “It was kind of weird to see people be like, ‘Oh, now Jimmy’s put in between a rock and a hard place where he obviously doesn’t wanna support Kris but the left would be so mad if he didn’t’ and all this speculation and all [these] crazy things.
“I told Jimmy, like, seven years ago - I walked out of my bedroom, it was late and it was kind of one of those... and then he was like, ‘We don’t have to talk about it if you don’t wanna talk about it’.”
Tyson reveals that the situation was MrBeast seeing her ‘fully dressed up’, long before the rest of the world knew. She told Padilla that she started dressing up ‘as a girl’ when she was six years old.

Tyson told MrBeast at the time that she didn’t want to talk about it and the YouTuber didn’t mention the encounter.
Three years ago, when the friends were enjoying some apple juice, Tyson told them that she ‘didn’t want to be a man anymore’ and broke down in tears.
The unwavering support from her core group of friends helped her gain the courage to further explore her identity regardless of the backlash from trolls.
