Fans praise Martin Scorsese for his reaction watching Ryan Gosling perform 'I'm Just Ken' at Oscars

The filmmaker has been praised for 'getting into' the 'Ken' performance

Fans have praised legendary filmmaker Martin Scorsese for his reaction as Ryan Gosling took to the stage to perform at the Oscars.

Gosling sent the world into a flurry after bringing a bucket load of his 'kenergy' to the Oscars' stage to perform 'I'm Just Ken', a fan favourite from the Barbie soundtrack.

The actor was joined on stage by producer Mark Ronson, a collection of men wearing cowboys hats and huge Barbie heads, which all seemed very on-brand for the theatrical song.

'I'm Just Ken' was nominated for Best Song in the 'Best Original Score' category, along with Billie Eilish's dreamy 'What Was I Made For?' which went on to win the gong.

As the 43-year-old actor belted out the song, fellow co-star Margot Robbie couldn't contain her laughter as Gosling confidently strutted the stage.

The performance came to an end with a surprise guitar collaboration from rock legends Slash and Wolfgang Van Halen, who shredded along to the song in the cross-over that nobody expected, yet the audience went wild for.

One of the stars who particularly appeared to enjoy the extravagant performance was film director Scorsese, who was seen in a now-viral video clapping along and laughing while watching the actor take the stage.

The video garnered comments celebrating the director for 'getting into it'.

One commenter wrote: "Looks like Scorsese really got a kick out of this! Love it."

Another added: "Marty felt that Ken energy! Okay Martin! This is my new fave video."

"Yes Martin! Look at that smile, i'm glad he enjoyed the night," said a third.

"This melts my heart! he looks like he's having a good time, he's such a vibe," another echoed.

While one quipped: "They need to sit down, Martin Scorsese is only 5'4, the man wants to see Ken."

The iconic filmmaker was up for multiple awards during the night, including Best Director for the box office hit Killers of The Flower Moon, but that award ended up being scooped by Christopher Nolan for Oppenheimer.

Oppenheimer stormed the awards show, also winning the prestigious 'Best Picture', which Killers Of The Flower Moon was also in the running for.

Although disappointing, Scorsese isn't exactly short on Oscars, previously winning multiple awards for the film The Departed.

The director has also won multiple Emmy's and BAFTAs across his 50-year career in film.
