Radio host slammed for 'gaslighting' Taylor Swift with 'nice guy' comments in resurfaced clip

Swifties are flocking to social media in outrage over a 'wild' interview with Bobby Bones

Swifties are flocking to social media to weigh in on resurfaced footage of one of the musician's interviews with a radio host.

Certain behavior may've tiptoed under the radar back in 2013, but over ten years later and it's not going to fly quite as easily.

Unfortunately for radio host Bobby Jones, a clip from his show has since resurfaced from when he sat down with the one and only Taylor Swift and people have a lot to say about it.

See what you make of it below:

Swift appeared on Bones' show back in 2013, and asked Swift what people 'say about' him, adding he's 'really a nice guy' and there's 'nothing malicious about' him.

"Zero percent," he continued. "I just do things differently than other people."

Swift responded by noting with her experience of nice and not so nice guys, the 'ones that are not nice are the ones who try to label themselves as a "nice guy"'.

Bones quickly replied: "I'm not a nice guy though."

Despite Swift beginning to try and point out Bones literally said he was 'in the first five minutes,' the radio host continued: "Did I? Anyone? Did I just say I was a nice guy? No!"

Swift eventually managed to get a word in edgeways, noting: "You just said it three, seven seconds ago."

However, Bones continued to deny it, arguing he only said it in relation to an earlier comment about Swift asking him when the Mr Hyde side of his personality comes out - the radio host having built up a bit of reputation and asking the 'Blank Space' singer what people say about him.

"I had to combat your 'Where is Dr Hyde?' And I said, 'Hey I'm a nice guy,'" he added.

Swift responds: "I didn't say that on air, you said that on air. I said that in conversation."

And the interview has since ended up being resurfaced on X and, as you can imagine, Swifties are having none of it.

One social media user said: "The gaslighting is crazy."

"There is nothing malicious about me…gaslights instantly," another added.

A third commented: "He flipped his words in less than five seconds."

A fourth wrote: "Bro said he is nice and then said he didn't say that. That's wild."

For those of you who have yet to encounter the term, as per the Cambridge Dictionary, gaslighting is 'to trick or control someone by making them believe that their memories or beliefs about something are wrong'.

UNILAD has contacted Taylor Swift and Bobby Bones' representatives for comment.
