Taylor Swift looked mortified after breaking $12,000 vintage ring at the MTV VMAs

She spent ages trying to find the big diamond that was attached to the jewellery.

Taylor Swift looked mortified after realizing she had broken a vintage ring at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

She came prepared for a dazzling red carpet moment in a daring Versace black dress and was adorned with $160,000 worth of bling, according to Page Six.

The singer, who walked away with a whopping nine Moon Man awards, was seen on camera holding the $12,000 piece of jewellery to a staff member with an awkward face.

Footage showed her and her team looking around the floor of New Jersey’s Prudential Center for the missing diamond.

It's not clear if she was able to recover the gem, however she wasn't seen with it later in the night when she was on stage accepting another award.

She also wasn't seen wearing it at the official after party.

PEOPLE says the gold piece is from Van Cleef & Arpels and is a vintage onyx and diamond ring.

It's currently being sold by Joseph Saidian & Sons, who provided the ring to Swift for the VMAs, for a price of $12,000.

While you might be mad at having a statement part of a piece of jewellery missing when it gets returned, it seems like there's no bad blood between them and the singer.

Joseph Saidian & Sons posted an Instagram Story that said: "It's okay. [We] forgive her."

Aside from that awkward moment, it was certainly a night to remember for the 'Anti-Hero' singer.

She won nine awards out of 11 nominations and is now the second most awarded VMA artist in history.

She won Song of the Year, Best Pop Video, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects and Video of the Year.

Swift also became the first person to win that last award four times.

She told the crowd after winning Video of the Year: "OK. This is unbelievable. This is... I just want to say that the fact that this is a fan-voted award means so much to me based on the memories that we've made recently."

She added: "I've just been on a tour that has been the most joyful and exhilarating experience.

"And we're not even halfway done with it. It's really felt like the adventure of a lifetime this past year. I cannot believe that it was a year ago at the VMAs that I announced the Midnights album.”

"And all I have to say tonight is thank you. I’m blown away. Thank you so much to the fans. I love you so much."
