Splashing out on a fancy coffee feels like a luxury at the best of times, and that's when the price tag is somewhere around the $4 mark. So could you ever justify paying nearly $1,000 for a cup of the good stuff?
A lot of people consider coffee to be a lifesaver each morning, but surely you have to draw the line somewhere.
Obviously, you want the brew to be a good one if you're forking out your hard-earned cash for it, but the Brew Lab Cafe in Penrith, Australia, believe they have some of the best.
For the price of just one month's rent (if you're lucky), you could get your hands on one cup of the coffee which is made from beans apparently found growing 1,700 metres above sea level beside a volcano in Panama.

Customers will have to plan ahead for their caffeine cravings, as the cafe ensures freshness by only ordering the coffee once the customer has requested it, meaning it takes two weeks to arrive.
Mitch Johnson, the owner of Brew Lab, told 9News: "We then get in contact with the guys in Panama, they'll roast the order individually, and then they'll send it over on their private jet."
The coffee's fancy journey no doubt adds to the hefty price tag of $995 per cup ($1500 AUD/£800), but the beans themselves are also high class as they're rated above 90 - the number which reportedly marks the start of the best on the coffee bean scale.

"This is definitely the top of the peak that we've found in beans," Johnson said.
Once the beans have arrived, they undergo a precise brewing process at Brew Lab which involves pre-dampened filter paper and water boiled to exactly 94 degrees Celsius.
The coffee goes through several 'pour over' sessions, each perfectly timed to ensure the perfect taste.
After all that, it's time to take a sip. So, is it worth it? I suppose it depends if you like tea.

Johnson explained: "Most people when they drink it, say their first impression is that it's more like a tea than a coffee."
Still, the owner has still found people are still keen to take a sip of the expensive coffee, and the flavour is apparently so good that it's been known to provoke tears of joy.

You'll be glad to know that there are more budget-friendly coffees available at Brew Lab too - though the prices still shoot up more than your average cafe.
"We do get quite a few coming in once a week, to try our $100 AUD ($60) or $200AUD ($132) coffees," the owner said. "It's not rare for us at all; there is an underground coffee scene in Sydney that is actively pursuing exotic brews such as this."
