Shaquille O'Neal buys family a washer and dryer at Home Depot in heartwarming video

Having retired from the NBA, Shaquille O'Neal spends his days making music and spoiling his fans

He might be one of the biggest NBA stars of all time, but Shaquille O'Neal still makes time for his fans.

In fact, the 51-year-old had an incredibly heartwarming moment after he bought a family a washer and a dryer at Home Depot.

Captured on camera by Shaq’s team, the clip has gone viral on social media, with fans flooding the comments with the basketballer’s other kind deeds.

It happened while the former centre was recording a music video for his new track, ‘I know I got it’.

For those not in the know, Shaq has been releasing electronic music, with his first rap album Shaq Diesel peaking at No. 25 on the Billboard Charts in 1993.

The women were elated by the kind gesture from the pro-basketballer.

Now going under the name DJ Diesel, the former NBA player had been filming for the hilarious new video at Home Depot when he first bumped into the lucky fans.

Eager to get a snap with Shaq, the women can hardly contain their excitement as they explain they are buying a washer and dryer.

“I’m gon pay for it,” Shaq tells them, as one of the women tries to translate what just happened.

Clearly elated by the kind gesture (and who wouldn’t be) they begin to scream before running to hug the star and shouting: “Bless you”.

Understandably, the sweet moment has gone viral after being uploaded to Twitter by @thenbacentral and has been liked over 41,000 times.

In the comments, fans also spoke about the former basketballer’s acts of generosity – which happen on a semi-regular basis.

“He always been doing s**t like this,” they wrote: “I remember he bought shoes for a high school basketball player who couldn’t afford shoes his size."

Others confirmed how kind-hearted the star was, with one revealing: “Met him once in Houston. Big guy, big heart.”

A third then added: “There are countless stories about Shaq doing generous deeds like this. This is essentially who is he is.”

The Lakers legend even has admitted that he loves spoiling fans, especially the little kids he meets when he’s out and about.

"I try to make every day a meaningful moment for a fan, and especially a kid," he told People magazine last year.

"My favourite thing to do is when I'm in Best Buy, Walmart, if I see a kid, get them something that I see he's looking at," he revealed, even giving recent examples such as buying children scooters and bikes.

We can only imagine what the dad of six is like with his own children.
