Snoop Dogg Spotted Smoking A Joint Before Super Bowl In New Footage

Rap legend Snoop Dogg was caught on camera smoking what appeared to be a joint just before his performance at the Super Bowl halftime show.

Joining Eminem, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige and Anderson .Paak, the 50-year-old was clearly unfazed by performing in front of a 70,000-strong audience, or perhaps he actually needed something to steady his nerves.

Whatever the reason, viral footage of Snoop smoking has left fans in stitches, and has simply added to how iconic the performance was, having since been branded the 'greatest Super Bowl halftime show ever'.

Ahead of his performance with the rest of the 'rap supergroup' of this year's show, Snoop said he 'never let[s] the moment get bigger than [him]'.

'I’m not going to understand it until it happens. While it’s happening, I’m in the zone. I’m stuck to the script, laser focused, being on point, sounding good, looking good and feeling good. I want to give off a great presentation. After the fact, it’s when I’ll be nervous about watching it to see what the reaction is. But while I’m going through it, it’s nothing,' he said.

And clearly having something to calm his nerves helps Snoop's method to get into that 'zone', after bilingual play by play announcer Rafa El Alcade posted footage from his screen, showing Snoop 'warming up before going on stage'.

The post has since amassed thousands of comments, with users taking to the clip in defence of the star. One said: 'Snoop has a free pass to smoke weed anywhere in the world. Literally anywhere.'

Another wrote: 'People gonna make stupid comments, but it's legal there and how many times have we seen performers downing beers on stage, he should have walked out ripping on a blunt, no difference at all than drinking a beer on stage.'

A third joked: 'Great, now everyone knows he smokes weed. Nice job guys.'

The halftime show was kicked off by Snoop himself, alongside Dre, with the song The Next Episode. California Love was then played in tribute to Tupac Shakur.

50 Cent also joined the rap group on stage to perform In Da Club, and Mary J. Blige sang Family Affair, followed by Lamar with Alright.

Second to last was none other than Eminem, who alongside performing Lose Yourself, also took the knee, a gesture the NFL had reportedly banned him from doing, though bosses have since denied having said anything of the sort.

The performance was topped off with Still D.R.E.
