Taylor Swift fan speaks out after singer shouted at security guard ‘harassing’ her mid-show

Swift halted her performance to criticise the security guard

A Taylor Swift fan has shared her side of the story after catching the singer's attention at her gig in Philadelphia when a security guard started 'harassing' her and her friends.

Kelly Inglis was in the crowd for the second night of Swift's performances at Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field, where she had managed to secure a coveted spot near the front of the stage.

She had a great view of Swift, but also found herself in close proximity to one of the security guards who allegedly kept bothering her and her friends 'every time [they] did anything'.

Swift spotted the altercation taking place and was caught on camera criticising the security guard, pausing her song to tell them: "She's fine. She wasn't doing anything. Hey, stop! Stop."

The footage quickly went viral, so Inglis used a friend's TikTok account to share a video explaining how the situation went down.

"Basically the guard had been like harassing our group all night, he just like kept telling us not to touch the rail and every time we did anything he was on top of us," she said.

"We're dancing, we're having fun and he didn't like it, and Taylor noticed that I was having fun and that he didn't like it."

Inglis said that at no point did the security guard put his hands on her or her friends, but she said he was escorted out of the gig after being criticised by Swift.

Meanwhile, Inglis and her friends were gifted free tickets to the singer's third and final night in Philadelphia.

The fan admitted she could barely get her head around the situation while speaking to the MailOnline, saying: "I can't believe my life, what is happening. It was my 13th time seeing Taylor live, on the 13th May, it was like the Taylor Swift gods were listening. It was so crazy."

In the video, Inglis added: "It wasn't this big crazy thing, it was just a bunch of girls having a good time and [the security guard] didn't want us to have fun."

A lot of fans praised Swift for stepping in and criticising the security guard as the situation unfolded, though others aren't sure her actions were necessary.

Many Twitter users have argued the security guard was just 'doing his job' at the event, with one writing: "What did the security even do wrong??"

The altercation took place while Swift was performing her popular track 'Bad Blood' - ironic timing that has not been lost on fans.
