Tony Rock Confirmed That His Brother, Chris Rock, Did Not Reconcile With Will Smith After Being Slapped

Chris Rock's brother, Tony Rock, claimed Will Smith did not reconcile with his brother despite previous reports the pair had made up.

Smith issued a direct apology to Rock after he stormed the Oscars stage on Sunday, 27 March, and slapped the comedian across the face for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

The Men in Black star admitted he was 'out of line' and 'wrong' for what he did, and while Rock is yet to publicly speak out, rumours suggested the pair had talked after the incident. However, this now appears to not be the case.

Now, Rock's brother doesn't believe the matter has been settled.

Tony Rock, Chris's younger brother, took to Twitter to do a Q&A session on Wednesday, 30 March, when he said he felt 'foul' about the slap and appeared to dismiss the notion it could have been faked, writing 'staged for?' and 'fake for what?' when asked whether the events were genuine.

The actor, who worked with Smith's son Jaden in the comedy series All Of Us, went on to say he did not approve of Smith's apology to his brother.

When asked to confirm whether 'Diddy was lying when he said Chris and Will made up that night and are good now', Tony responded: "yep".

Despite his claim that Rock and Smith have not reconciled their differences, Tony assured after the incident that all of his brothers are 'fine'. Rock is the eldest sibling to five younger brothers and one younger sister.

During his Q&A, Tony went on to indicate Smith had not approached his brother and 'the Rock family' in the wake of the events to 'speak directly' to them. In response to a Twitter user who questioned whether Tony would be 'open' to Smith speaking directly to them, Tony responded: "waiting...".

The actor did make clear that he is planning some sort of response to Smith, and when asked whether he would be 'fighting fire with fire or going the professional route', Tony simply replied: "It's on bro."

The Academy's board of governors confirmed they have begun 'disciplinary proceedings' against Smith in response to his actions on Sunday. The organisation apologised to Rock, while also confirming it asked Smith to leave the ceremony after the slap, but that he 'refused'.
