Employee finds list of questions to ask when receiving a bomb threat that leaves people confused

People are baffled by the ‘ridiculous’ list of questions on a ‘bomb threat checklist’ found at a workplace by staff

People are baffled by the ‘ridiculous’ list of questions on a ‘bomb threat checklist’ found at a workplace by staff.

Dealing with bomb threats in your workplace might be the kind of scenario you imagine in your training period, while thinking about what on earth you would do.

Well thankfully, there’s a list that has reassured us that all the sensible things you might do - like alerting other staff members of the threat - is actually where you would go wrong.

One colleague found the ‘bomb threat checklist’ at their place of work, and posted it on Reddit after reading the bizarre questions.

The list was seemingly designed to be used while on the phone to someone who has proposed a potential bomb threat.

One user in the comments joked about finding the sheet in the first place, saying: “I’d feel lucky just for finding the form before they hang up.”

The majority of the questions just had people beyond baffled.

Some of the questions seem instinctive to ask, such as the name and age of the caller.

But the majority of the questions just had people beyond baffled.

One of these being ‘if their voice is familiar, who does it sound like?’

This either means that they are suggesting it’s someone you know, or someone that is well-known, hence why you would know their voice.

Celebrity bomb threat phone calls weren’t exactly on our 2024 bingo cards?

Another of the ‘unnecessary’ questions was ‘when is the bomb going to explode?’

One Reddit user jokingly commented: “When is the bomb going to explode?

"Now.

"O sh*t.”

Another question on the list was what could be heard in the background of the call, which doesn’t seem too far-fetched to be asked.

But when you look at the tick boxes of possible answer choices, you start to question who exactly wrote the form…

These were just some of the possible background noises noted down - crockery, animal noises, static, office machinery, aircraft, etc.

And it's safe to say people in the comments didn’t hold back with the jokes.

One said: “Sorry sir, I cannot submit your ticket for 'bomb threat' until we've finished my script, please bear with me while we go through the questions together.

“Yes, I know it's frustrating for you, I hope you can imagine how frustrating it must be for me knowing there is a bomb that can go off any second here."

"Your threat is very important. Please hold for the next available bomb threat specialist," joked another.

A third added: "''Please note that this call is recorded for bomb threat training purposes'."
