Man who's spent nearly $100k tattooing his body says inside his bum was most painful

A Canadian man who's spent thousands of dollars tattooing almost his entire body revealed that the inside of his butt was the most painful part.

I know, I have a lot of questions too.

Remy, who goes by @ephemeral__remy on Instagram, got his first tattoo 15 years ago, when he had his son's name written in script in 2009.

Since then, he's gone on to cover almost his entire body, so his skin is now made up almost entirely of ink.

Last year, Remy made clear that he has no signs of slowing down with his inking journey - even if he is running out of space for new designs.

"If I’m 'finished' check me for a pulse, because I’ve got nothing but gas in the tank for this journey I’m on," he wrote alongside a before-and-after Instagram post.

In 2022, Remy told the Daily Star he'd spent between $88,000 and $94,000 getting work done. Almost two years on, that figure will have only increased.

"The only places I haven't tattooed are most of my face, ears, soles of my feet and parts of my palm," he explained.

It's not out of fear of pain though, as Remy explained that he's opted for tattoos in more sensitive areas, even if they won't get much of an audience.

Speaking about the most painful tattoo he's had, he said: "Maybe the inside of the bum, or the deeper regions of the inner thighs, those areas are fairly sensitive."

Unfortunately, Remy's bold look has led to him being trolled for his appearance, but he doesn't let it get to him. Plus, it's only keyboard warriors that take the time to slam his decisions.

He explained: "I never get any 'bad' or 'hateful' comments from anyone family or stranger in person.

"I only ever hear those sorts of things from people online, in public I get only positive or curious comments.

"When I receive hate online I either ignore it or wish the hater/troll well, as I'm big enough to realise what's upset them isn't me."

He added: "I realise something else is unfulfilled or bothering them in their personal life."

Though covering your entire body in tattoos isn't for everyone, Remy did share some advice for anyone looking to start their own inking journey.

"I would say not to be in a hurry. The journey is the funnest part," he said.

"And if you do this as a marathon rather than a sprint you'll have a lot better time, and make better memories."
