TikTokers are up in arms after viewing the ‘smallest NYC apartment known to human life’... and their rage is more than justified.
‘But you get to live in New York City’... naaah, that is nowhere near strong justification for this depressing apartment.
‘In college you were probably paying $1200 at least for the dorms there’... yeah, that isn’t going to swing either.

In a viral TikTok, listing agent Alexander Bruni half tried to justify a 54-square-feet box room that he repeatedly joked could pretty much only fit a bed and nothing else.
Sharing a video of a tour of the NYC apartment on his TikTok page @ThatNYCrentalpage last year, the clip has continued to draw ire from viewers.
In the video, captioned as Studio Apartment MidTown West, NYC, $1200, Bruni said: “Today I’m going to show you the smallest apartment that currently exists in New York City.

“Check this out, yep this is real, this exists. This is very real... it's 9 by 6, it's real but no space for anything besides a bed.”
The room is painfully small with no sink, kitchen or any living space or much more besides some plugs and a shelf. So it's definitely hard to call this an actual apartment.
There's a shared bathroom down the hall, but the video doesn’t explain just how many people this area would be shared with, or if there is even a kitchen area.
“All jokes aside, in college... whatever bumble town you were going to college in... you were probably paying $1200 at least for the dorms there,” the TikToker continued.

“You were not paying to live in New York City that’s for sure. So yeah, the unit might be small and very unsightly but at the end of the day for what you’re paying you get to live your life in New York City.
“Every unit in the building is like this by the way, here is the shared bathroom. If you’re interested in this you know don’t hesitate to reach out but um yeah don’t reach out."
Social media users were NOT pleased that the TikToker tried to justify the living space at all, even as a joke.
“It’s appalling, there is no justification for it,” one annoyed user wrote.

“I live in NYC and there is nothing here that is worth living in this box for,” another added.
While a third said: “What’s so special about living in NYC that you would pay to live like that."
“Omg. No running water in the room? I’m sorry but shared bathrooms are non starters. Who cleans them,” another wrote.
Others remarked that they had closets and rugs that were 9 by 6, so yeah, you might want to keep looking for other places to live if you want more space than just a broom cupboard.
