Woman pours water over neighbor’s son as revenge for him doing it to her cat

Woman defends her actions after facing a backlash for taking revenge on a kid after he poured water on her cat.

A woman has sparked a fierce debate on social media after confronting a child who poured water over her cat.

It would be an understatement to say pet owners can be protective of their animals.

I mean it makes sense, for many owners, they are considered part of the family.

But a woman has sparked a debate on X as people question whether her payback went too far.

Shannon Cooper defended her cat.

Shannon Cooper from Edinburgh, Scotland, explained how she responded when she found out her neighbor had poured water all over her cat.

Writing in a post on X back in 2020, she said: “My 10 year old neighbour just threw a cup of water over my cat who was sitting on the fence minding his own business n laughed so I threw a basin of water over him from the window and now his dad is at my door going mental but I don’t see the problem, don’t touch my cat."

Some social media users were quick to defend her actions while others condemned her.

“It's v childish how you handled it you should had told the parents first so that they could punish their own kid... Like no that wouldn't hurt a kid but at the same time as a parent myself I'D LIKE TO HANDLE MY KID,” one user wrote.

“People defending this clearly haven't surrounded themselves by children and don't understand the development they are still going through. The child is still growing and understanding consequences,” another added.

“Oh ffs. I’m not sure if this was written for laughs, was the kid wrong? Yes. But you? You’re not a kid,” a third scolded her.

However, many defended her actions and insisted she taught the child a valuable lesson.

“It’s a good lesson for him to learn about not bothering animals,” one user wrote.

“If you have ever had a kid, one of the first things you do is teach them respect for life, incl. animals and people. If my kiddo had ignored my lessons on this (he'd never) a little water wouldn't hurt him,” a third wrote.

Cooper even gave an update after realizing some people were very mad about the interaction. She explained that in the end there were no hard feelings between all of them.

“People r so mad over this, the kid and his dad were laughing about it today, we r friends (also might I add the dad never knew what his son done which is why he was mad to begin with) also the kid is 13 he really looks 10 lmao”
