Terrified tourists find peepholes, 'strange' tunnels and secret rooms in their creepy $3,500 Airbnb

Nope, nope, nope...

It's everyone's worst nightmare: you check into an Airbnb only to discover that someone has been secretly watching you.

But while for the majority of us it's an irrational fear, for two young women, it may very well have been true:

Tierra and her friend, Scarlet, recently rented out an apartment for a couple of weeks in Oregon, US forking out over $3,500 for the pleasure.

However, what was supposed to be a pretty chilled out stay for the two women turned into a plot out of a horror film.

In a video posted to her TikTok account, Tierra explained that there were a couple of red flags about the property.

Giving a tour of the apartment, she tells her followers that she and Scarlet were told not to use the front door, instead going in via a separate door at the back.

But sadly for the pair, that's not where the weirdness ended.

Explaining the situation, Tierra says they were given access to one key in a lock box, only to find another random key - which also opened their door - hidden in the garden.

I mean, I don't know about you, but that would be enough for me to bolt and not look back.

And that's not even the worst of it.

Later in the vid, Tierra and Scarlet are seen walking round the house, heading upstairs, where they reveal some strange - and fairly creepy - looking cupboards.

Oh, and then there is the peephole looking into the bedroom?!

"Object number one to bring to attention,' Tierra says. "There are strange tunnels, holes and ways to this home."

The pair then show a small crawl space - 'large enough for a human' - which is directly behind a cabinet in the bedroom.

To demonstrate, S goes into the little room and pokes her finger straight through, showing it off to the camera.

This was one of about a dozen little cupboards and hideaways - some of which led through to dark tunnels, which, for obvious reasons, neither of the girls ventured down.

I mean, as one person pointed out, have you seen Barbarian?!

And if that wasn't bad enough, all of this was being played out, they say, while an actual murderer was on the loose in the area. I mean, that's not going to do wonders for your anxiety, is it?

The tour ends in the basement, just like all good horror films, where we find a secret door and yet another tunnel.

All of this goes to freak the pair of them out, and leads to them demanding to be moved and a refund on the huge fee they paid for the apartment.

In a couple of updates, Tierra explained that they found it a bit of a struggle with Airbnb to get their money back, but eventually, they were able to get moved to another, much cheaper, rental, where they were a lot happier.
