People left shaking after terrifying noise captured coming from woods in Canada

People had a lot of ideas about what exactly had made the mysterious sound emanating from the forest

Thinking of heading on a camping trip? You may want to reconsider if you watch this video.

A resurfaced clip - filmed on the morning of December 16 2017 in Witset, British Columbia, Canada - captured a sound that enough to make anyone's blood run cold.

Watch below if you dare:

The clip shows a snowy forest, with the camera panning over the tree line.

It all looks very picturesque - until a bloodcurdling cry echoes out through the trees, only emphasised by the silence around it.

If you've ever seen the movie An American Werewolf in London, you'll have a sense of what the noise sounded like.

And of course, anyone who has seen that movie knows what approaches after you hear that howl.

As for this particular noise, people had all manner of different suggestions as to what could have made it.

One person suggested that it could have been a mountain lion, writing: "Mountain lion call, first time I heard this in BC I almost p*ssed myself. I thought a banshee was on to me."

The call can be heard echoing through the forest.

Given the frozen landscape and creepy forest, several people also suggested that it could have been the White Walkers from Game of Thrones.

Given how easily they were defeated though, that probably wouldn't be anything to worry about.

Others suggested that it may have been a fox, as while they are cute to look at ,they can make quite a racket when they're in the mood.

Many people took to the comments to share how the mysterious sound had made them feel.

One wrote: "Is it bad that I would go in there to try and see what was making those sounds, like I'm being serious I actually would."

But they didn't fancy their chances, adding: "Probably wouldn’t make it back alive but I’m curious as hell."

What would you do if you heard that?

Another reflected if this is where a lot of myths and superstitions come from.

They tweeted: "Funny how a call from a mountain lion probably spawned tons of ghost stories and folklore among societies throughout history.

"A scary sound and lack of knowing what it is can let the human imagination run absolutely wild."

Another person was a lot more straightforward, saying simply: "That's exactly why I don't go in the woods in Canada."

There are certainly a lot of animals that live in Canada which you should be cautious around if you encounter them.

Animals native to Canada include moose, grizzly bears, lynxes, caribou, polar bears, and most ferocious of all, canada geese.
