A Kick streamer who was hit with backlash after wearing 'painted pants' to the gym has made it clear the stunt was a 'social experiment'.
Influencer Natalie Reynolds sparked mixed responses with her viral video, which showed her walking around the workout space with her legs painted blue to look like leggings.
She quickly caught the attention of another gym-goer who called her out for her attire - or lack thereof - as he told her she needed to leave if she didn't 'have clothes on'.

When Reynolds attempted to argue that she was wearing clothes, the man responded: "Not fine, I work in the industry enough to know. I work in the entertainment field."
Reynolds shared the video with the caption, "Guy in the gym presses me for wearing painted paints…", but she received an influx of criticism after it went viral, with one person accusing her of 'indecent exposure'.
In response, the streamer argued the situation 'really isn’t that deep'.
She claimed the video had been filmed as a 'social experiment', and later shared a post on X which pointed out a male YouTuber had previously created a very similar video in which he'd painted his body and legs for the gym.

Alongside a screenshot from the man's video, Reynolds wrote: "So a guy youtuber makes a video just like this but when I paint myself everyone is acting like the world is ending. Let me get my gains and shredded in peace pls."
Reynolds also responded to people claiming she hadn't been wearing any clothes at all under her paint, pointing out she was actually dressed in a 'sports gym workout bra and a bathing suit bottom'.
"Why everyone acting like I was naked lmao," Reynolds added. "The amount of women who wear pants up the a** at the gym… This is nothing bad at all."
One furious viewer claimed Reynolds could have exposed herself to children as a result of the stunt, but she responded: "Less is showing then what you see at the beach and I have crop top/ bikini bottom on. So that means it’s illegal for children to walk on a beach?"

A note added for context on X states that the man in Reynolds' video was 'protecting the overall gym etiquette according to which you should wear clothes suitable for exercise'.
Reynolds' posts about the stunt come after she issued an apology for a previous 'prank' video which involved a 'free candy' van.
The streamer said in a post on X she was trying to 'do a social experiment video and give away candy and tell kids to not ever trust strangers'.
"No one was injured, and parents were aware and present when I gave away candy. I apologize to anyone who was disturbed and didn’t know we were making a video and the officers involved," she added.
