Man proudly explains why he doesn’t 'help' wife with chores

His video has gone viral on TikTok

Doing chores around the house is something that should really be shared among everyone in any given household.

Of course, certain circumstances can mean that some people can not partake in these chores, wether that be due to other commitments or personal circumstances.

One man recently went viral on TikTok after proudly declaring he doesn't 'help' his wife with chores around the house.

J.R. Minton, a UPS driver in Texas, certainly grabbed many people's attention on social media with his now viral video.

In the TikTok Minton says: "I don’t help my wife cook. I don’t help her clean, do laundry, take care of the kids - none of that."

At this point, you are probably asking why that might be the case, well the UPS driver explains all in the next breath.

He adds: "Because I do what I’m supposed to do as a father and a husband.

"I cook, I clean, I do the laundry. I take care of the kids. I can’t ‘help’ my wife do those things, because they are my job, too."

Minton concludes his video by saying: "Change the way you think and grow the f**k up up and be a man."

Did he get you for a second?

If Minton got you for a second, then you are certainly not alone.

"**Deletes paragraph," one person commented, referring to the rather angry message they were planning to comment on the TikTok.

A second added: "I was ready to fight," while a third penned: "I was about to be salty. Glad you clarified."

And another wrote: "The way I had to breath through the first half of the video."

Minton was also inundated with praise from women who wished their partners shared their same thought process as the UPS driver.

"Had to tell my husband to stop saying, ‘… for your mother,’ to the kids. Empty the dishwasher FOR ME? No. Those are everybody’s dishes," one mother said.

Many people have praised the man.

While a second said: "My husband makes me cook for him even at 2am, I wish he could learn a thing or two from you."

Since Minton's video went viral, he has spoken to Today.com about chores and his newfound fame.

"Pretty much everything about my parenting style is in spite of what I saw when I was growing up," he told the outlet.
