Man locks escape room employees in building and leaves clues on how to escape

In a cruel twist of fate, a man decided to subject escape room workers to a challenge of his own after locking them in a building

A man has left people divided after pranking escape room employees.

For those of you who have been living under a rock, an escape room is where a group of people are shut in a room and left with a series of clues and puzzles so they can work out how to get out - usually by finding a key.

But in a twist of fate, one man decided to lock escape room employees in a building and left them with clues to work out their exit.

In a viral video that was captured on 26 August, the man runs out and quickly ties a wire around the door handles so people inside can't get out.

But before fleeing the area, he slips a laminated sheet through the doors, which looks to be instructions.

General manager, Nathaniel Witschi, 22, is then seen trying to get to the man outside the doors of the business.

The incident occurred at the Amazing Escape Room in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania, USA.

A spokesperson for Amazing Escape Room said: "Our employee was locked out of the escape room and was trying to get in, the footage captured was from our security videos."

They added that the assailant was known to the company and he has done this before.

No damage was caused and the company have not taken any action.

While some people found the clip amusing, others hit out at the prankster for putting the members of staff in danger and for being a general pain in the ass.

"This is so dumb. What about an emergency happened and he couldn't get out," one social media user wrote.

"I know it’s a joke but there’s nothing worse than wanting to go home from work and not being able to," said another.

"I worked as a fire marshal In Pennsylvania and under state law that young man is subject to imprisonment for unlawful entrapment for endangering another person in the event of a fire," a third claimed.

He left them with instructions on how to get out.

But others saw the funny side of things.

"When you give Jigsaw his taste of his own medicine," wrote one person, while giving the nod to the Saw movies.

Someone else went on: "I’m sorry but this is genius."

Meanwhile, another hailed it as 'brilliant'.

Others questioned if it was real, however, and even suggested that it would make a good advertisement for the Pennsylvania-based escape room.
