A woman has been left terrified after a man 'found pictures of her' on Reddit that she never even took.
"Scary stuff and scary people," the woman said as she shared her story on TikTok. "Stay safe out there.”
TikTok user Jewel (@jewelspringer) began the video by stating how she hopes sharing her own experience will help those going through similar and prevent others from having their data stolen.

"I just wanted to come on here and talk about something that happened to me in case it could help somebody in the future and have it not happen to them," she began the video.
The woman explained how she had a message from an unknown man on Instagram a few months earlier asking if she had posted to Reddit.
Jewel presumed the message was a hoax or someone trying to be flirty, so she decided to ignore it.

However, she received another message from the man a few months later, something that certainly grabbed her attention.
"Hey, I’m really sorry to bother you. I just want to let you know that somebody leaked your stuff on Reddit," the man's message read.
"There’s nothing to leak. I don’t know what you’re talking about," Jewel instantly responded.
The man claimed he works for a company that uses facial recognition technology to uncover photos that do not belong on the web.

"We found an image with your face on it, and I don’t know if it’s real or if it’s AI-generated," the man reportedly said.
While noting it was 'inappropriate', the man sent a photo that was circulated on Reddit.

"He sent me a photo of me naked in the mirror," Jewel said. "And it was AI-generated."
Unfortunately, such a story is not exactly uncommon in 2024 thanks to the advancements in AI or artificial intelligence.
In the past few weeks we've seen Taylor Swift become a victim of deepfake nudes - a problem that doesn't seem to be disappearing anytime soon.
Jewel went on to say that somebody had taken one of her images from a private Instagram account of just 80 followers and digitally altered them.

"They took my bikini off in AI and gave me AI-generated kibbles and bits," she said.
Jewel went on to say how she feels the whole ordeal was 'very shady', concluding the video by saying: "I just want people to be aware that that’s going on."
Reddit declined to comment when approached by UNILAD.
Jewel noted in the comments to the TikTok that the post was deleted and the account had been suspended.
