Residents of the Kazakhstani city of Almaty are on high alert after it has been reported the nation’s most notorious killer is on the loose.
Nikolay Jumagaliev, AKA ‘Metal Fang’ due to his metal teeth, was jailed in 1981 for killing and eating at least ten women, and locals now believe the 63-year-old has escaped a psychiatric facility on December 23rd.
Police have yet to confirm whether Jumagaliev is in custody, but concerned citizens have made him the number one suspect in the disappearance of 22-year-old Saida Akzhanova. She has not been seen since New Year’s Eve.
In response to speculation a police spokesperson is reported to have said:
We do not have information about the escape of the man and have no orders to catch him. This information is confusing.
Jumagaliev escaped once before while he was transported between hospitals in 1989, and he evaded recapture for another two years.
The chilling confession of his first murder, reported by the Daily Mail, demonstrates precisely why locals are worried.
I always loved to hunt, often went hunting, but this was my first time hunting a woman.
She resisted, and then I cut her throat with a knife. Then I drank her blood.
I cut the corpse’s breast into strips, removed the ovaries, and separated the pelvis and hips. I then folded these pieces into a backpack and carried them home.
I melted the fat to fry with, and some parts I pickled.
Once I put the parts through a meat grinder and made dumplings.
I saved the meat for myself; I never served it to anyone else.
Twice I grilled the heart and the kidneys. Grilled meat, too. But it was tough, and I cooked it for a long time in its own fat.
The meat of this woman took me a month to eat.
