This video of the police taking out a drug smuggling plane in Brazil is insane.
Brazil’s war on drugs is a never-ending battle and as the country’s police do their best to stem the tide of narcotics coming in and out of the country they’ve had to adopt some drastic tactics.
Case-in-point, the video above – no it’s not spare footage from Fast Five – but footage filmed from the dashboard of a police vehicle. The video shows the police ramming the airplane full of drugs, taking out the wing in the process.

It’s made even more spectacular by the fact it appears that the plane is in the process of taking off from it’s makeshift runway.
The whole moment wouldn’t be out of place in high budget action film or a Triple A gaming title, but this is some real life action man shit.
After taking out the plane, which in the process took out the car’s windscreen, the armed police get out of the car to apprehend the pilot and seize the illegal cargo.
This tactic isn’t new in Brazil, in fact it’s a standard maneuver for the police to pull off, PIT Maneuvers eat your heart out.
The drugs war in Brazil has taken its toll on the country, shouldering much of the blame for a 166 per cent increase in the country’s homicide rate between 2002 and 2012.
In 2014 there were at least 37 killings per 100,000 inhabitants, which Al Jazeera reports are mostly ‘connected to the drug trade’.
