Boxing experts, MMA experts, and that drunken expert on everything ever from your local have had their say on the super fight of the century – but now Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey have weighed in on the debate.
Conor McGregor or Floyd Mayweather? All the signs are pointing to Floyd. He’s the bookies favourite, he’s never been beaten, 49 and 0.
But could this mad Irishman from Crumlin catch him with a crippling hook and end it all? He’s got age on his side and he’s definitely got the confidence, but can he pull it off?
We sat down and chatted with McConaughey and Elba to see what they think will happen and yes, they’re very excited for the bout.

So first off – Idris Elba revealed to us the news you’ve all been waiting to hear.
Chatting with UNILAD, Elba announced:
Listen I’m going to be real here. I love both those gentlemen and I have lots of respect for both of them but I think there might be be a surprise here.
I think that McGregor is a very tricky fighter. He’s a tricky fighter in the UFC and the UFC has to lead on all sorts of disciplines.
Boxing – you’re never going to fight anyone who’s better than Mayweather. You’re never going to fight a more composed fighter.
But I think what will rock Mayweather is McGregor’s ability to shape shift, move quickly, and hit hard. And it only takes one slap to really really turn your head around and you lose all of that composure.
So my fear for Mayweather is that that will happen and once that happens, McGregor is like a dog with a bone. Once he gets hold of you it’s over. S0 kinda thinking McGregor will surprise the world with this one.

Up next we have Matthew McConaughey repping team Mayweather.
Speaking to UNILAD, McConaughey said:
I think this is an easy one. I think it’s going to make for some great television. But this is a boxing match. There are gloves. Mayweather is the best living boxer we have now.
All respect to Conor McGregor as a fighter in an Octagon which is by any means necessary. How do we do it? This is a boxing match. I think Mayweather wins this one. I think there’ll be controversy because hopefully McGregor rips his gloves off and goes for a leg lock.
August 26 people. That’s when all of the trash talk will be put to bed.
