Warning: Avengers: Infinity War Spoilers

UNILAD

There are some cruel things an ex can do, but one of the worst has got to be messaging you spoilers for a highly anticipated film.

22-year-old poet Sandy was going about her business a couple of weeks after a break-up when she received a gut-wrenching message on Twitter.

No mean words or insults. Worse… a simple one-line ‘revealing’ the end of Avengers: Infinity War. The message simply read ‘btw Spiderman dies in the new Avengers’.

That’s the ultimate kick in the teeth, but luckily Sandy had seen the film the day before so was clued up on it all.

Speaking to UNILAD, Sandy said:

It ended between us about two weeks before he sent that and we hadn’t really spoken since. He randomly sent me that then blocked me so I couldn’t reply but I found it hilarious. I saw the movie a day before he sent that which is very lucky.

He called me after and we started laughing and he said he did it because he wanted to annoy me but he’s not a malicious person.

We are civil and he wanted more but I told him it’s completely over I want nothing further again

Talking about the response that her tweet got, Sandy said:

I liked the ones that found it funny but some people were annoyed at the ‘spoiler’.

I wouldn’t say it’s a spoiler because technically that doesn’t happen, you have to watch it to kinda understand.

On Twitter, Sandy said she was ‘screaming’ after seeing the message, saying ‘if it was a movie I loved which I hadn’t seen I would have been soooo angry’.

Marvel Studios

In actual fact it was Spiderman’s death that was the most heart-breaking of them all. With a snap of his fingers, Thanos reduced billions of people across the universe to dust; including some of our most beloved Marvel heroes.

The bond between the pair was tragically apparent as Peter looked towards his mentor in sheer terror as the moment of his oblivion approached.

It now seems clear Peter knew what was about to happen and – worst of all for a superhero – he knew nothing could be done. He knew he had to go, even if every part of him wanted to resist.

Peter was acutely aware of his own impending death as well as those of countless others, all through the tingling of his Spidey senses.

This understanding has broken hearts anew, with many taking to Twitter to express their grief.

Sandy, from London, posted the message from her ex on Twitter and was met with outrage from users, with one asking ‘what did you do to him?’ to deserve something like that.

Another wrote:

Loooooool I’m sorry this happened to you but I’m still laughing that’s lowkey genius uno [sic].

Sandy and her ex-boyfriend ended on pretty good terms so the spoiler was sent in good humour, and she has recently released some poetry that you can see below.

That’s a pretty brutal response to a break-up, but I’m hoping for a poem about it from Sandy.

I’ll be keeping an eye on her page.
