Benedict Cumberbatch has hit back at fans after they compared him to Ali G in a new photoshoot, describing them as 'p*ss-takers'.
The Spider-Man: No Way Home and Power of the Dog star, who recently earned a BAFTA nomination for the latter turn, appeared alongside the likes of Kristen Stewart, Lady Gaga, Denzel Washington and Adam Driver for W Magazine's Best Performances 2022 edition.
Cumberbatch was photographed sporting a yellow shirt, bucket hat and pair of tinted shades. However, the artistry behind the shoot was quickly overshadowed by people's memes online, with many comparing him to Sacha Baron Cohen's iconic character. It appears the actor has little patience for these jokers.
While speaking to Times Radio, Cumberbatch discussed the photoshoot and addressed the comparisons, saying he 'found it very freeing to go, yeah, fine, I'm just surrendering myself to an artist's concept... and yeah, f*ck the p*ss takers, I don't have to defend [fashion photographer Tim Walker]'.

'I’d love to know what their version of a good photograph would be. You won’t be seeing me walking around in a Fendi bucket [hat], or whatever it was, anytime soon. Or a 10-gallon hat that doesn’t fit my rather large head anyway... but I’d do anything for Tim, I really would,' he added.
Cumberbatch has received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of Phil Burbank in The Power of the Dog, and is widely-tipped to earn an Oscar nomination alongside Will Smith and Andrew Garfield.

Tom Holland recently revealed how much he hated Cumberbatch's character in the film and finding him jarring given their on-set experiences together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. 'For the first time in knowing you, I really hated you. I thought you were horrible and so grotesque and awful,' he said.
